Schär Chocolate-Dipped Cookies

Elegant, Dignified Cookies

You've seen them before. Fancy cookies. Elegant cookies. Sophisticated cookies.

Not sandwich cookies. Not animal crackers. None of those cookies that scream of dipping in milk, licking out the insides, or licking of fingers.

I'm talking about dignified cookies.

The regular, glutenated store shelves have them. And they are promoted on commercials full of suave, well-appointed adults carrying wine glasses and nibbling on these dignified cookies with their pinkies in the air.

Okay, I don't know about the pinkies in the air, but I think you get the idea.

You probably know where they are located in your standard grocery store.

Are there any gluten-free cookies as elegant? As dignified?

Are there any tasteful, delectable gluten-free cookies you should be serving with wine to your chic guests? Do they exist? Such cookies. Do such cookies exist?

Yes, yes they do.

Schär Gluten-Free Chocolate-Dipped Cookies

They do exist. And they are elegant, polished, urbane enough to serve to your chic guests.

And Schär makes them.

I am finding more and more Schär products in both my regular, national grocery store and in my local health food store.  This is good. Access to these good cookies is good.

These are not quite shortbread cookies. They are less buttery than shortbread, but have a nice, easy sweetness and crumble. Not too sweet.

And the back is covered in chocolate. Not super sweet, milky chocolate. No. It's dark under there. Dark, firm chocolate. Dark, delicious chocolate.

The cookie itself is a a bit crumbly, but not more than a normal shortbread. Definitely not the buttery taste of shortbread. But this isn't really shortbread anyways.

But these are good and tasty in a not very sweet, not very buttery way.

And they definitely fit the pinkie-pointing-in-the-air elegance requirement. A nice, lightly-sweet, dark chocolate-dipped, crunchy cookie.

A polished, yet delicious, cookie for your most poised guests. Or any of your guests. Even those finger-licking ones!
